About Us
Altab Ali Foundation was established in 2010 by a group of community activists of 1970s-1980s to recognise the anti-racist struggle of the Bengali community within the historical context of Tower Hamlets. Here is what the papers said on the events during that time in East London. The objective of the Foundation is to build a broader alliance of anti-racist, secular progressive Bengali & non-Bengali activists to oppose racism, fascism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, fundamentalism and all forms of extremism.
The Foundation is committed to promoting partnerships between the voluntary, public and private sector organisations in order to advance the wellbeing of the BAME communities in general and the Bengali community in particular through the developing of sustainable community organisations.
